The National Forensic Science Training Institute is the only Constitutive Unit under the auspices of the Philippine Public Safety College that has become a byword to those who dream of becoming top caliber professional investigators thus, earning the moniker "Crime Investigators' Country".

Its unique training offering, the CRIDEC Program, where trainees.participants are being honed to become competent and proficient crime, narcotics, and traffic investigation officers skilled in the application of scientific processes and procedures, had earned cognizance far and wide that it has to open its portals to other relevant interested parties from the allied services. CRIDEC Program offers Public Safety Investigation and Detection Course (PSIDC), Public Safety Narcotics Investigation Course (PSNIC), Public Safety Traffic Investigation Course (PSTIC) Public Safety Graduate Program, and other forensic science courses/seminars that may be offered by the Institute upon approval of the President, PPSC.

All the foregoing courses under the CRIDEC Program have the same period of training with a total of 720 hours or an equivalent of four and a half months. Passing the Qualifying Examination is the only entry point to the CRIDEC Program.
